In 7th grade, Memphian Tim Regan attended his 1st rock ‘n roll concert: Cheap Trick at the Mid-South Fair. A guitar pick tossed in his eye from the stage by Rick Nielson sent Regan to the local emergency room. Feeling guilty (and possibly worried about a potential lawsuit), Nielson visited the young fan while in the hospital and gave him one of his many guitar straps. At that moment Regan decided he wanted to become a pop star. With the release of Antenna Shoes’ Generous Gambler, Regan’s newest project and recordings, the dreams are coming to fruition.

Since that fateful day in the hospital, Regan has been honing his pop chops with the likes of Memphis’ indie poppers Snowglobe, backed up Hank Williams’ granddaughter Holly Williams, tinkled the ivories for Mark Linkous’ Sparklehorse, and most recently acted as multi-instrumentalist with Austin’s pop sensations Oh No! Oh My! After pro-creating with these fine established musical combos, Regan set out to create his own pop masterpiece with several of the top players in the hot Memphis music scene forming the Antenna Shoes, who debuted at the 1st ever Memphis Pops festival in 2007. Regan’s backlog of inspirations, dreams, and road experiences helped to create one of the top pop gems of 2008, Generous Gambler.

Antenna Shoes features a revolving door of some of the top Memphis musicians: Tim Regan on vocals, guitars, and keyboards; Steve Selvidge (Big Ass Truck/Amy LaVere) on guitar; Paul Taylor (North Mississippi All-Stars/Amy LaVere) on drums ; Brandon Robertson (Snowglobe,Harlan T. Bobo) on bass; Luke White (the Coach and Four,/Snowglobe) on Guitar and vocals; Elodie Lafont on vocals and Nahshon Benford (Snowglobe) on trumpet and flute.

Some have called Antenna Shoes “semi-electronic chamber pop” while others have described it as pop nirvana, we just think it is great music. Follow this amazing songwriter as he ascends to his pop dreams.
